GAMBLE PLANTATION STATE HISTORIC SITE
Once the site of a sugar plantation of 3,500 acres owned by Maj. Robert Gamble, who built an antebellum manor house in the 1840's. Today, the restored and refurbished Gamble Mansion is the only surviving plantation house in South Florida and the oldest home in Manatee County. West of I-75 Exit 43 near U.S. 301 East

MADIRA BICKEL MOUND
Three periods of Florida Indian culture dating back two-thousand years at this archaeological site which covers 10 aacres on Terra Ceia Island in Manatee County.
U.S. 19 north from Bradenton, following the signs to the Sunshine Skyway. Exit at Terra Ceia Island. The mound site is on the island's west shore, facing the bay.
