Anonymous party of 8 had dinner at Sharkey's on the Pier and rated the mahi Mahi/ cocktails fair because "I was so-so with the meal" and writes on 9/16/2009: "When we got to the restaurant, it was nice to the eyes, the sunset was amazing.. The service was the worse I have experienced ever.. Very slow and the waitress seemed miffed to being working that day.. The food was just ok, I was expecting to much I guess.. I felt I could of gotten better seafood at Captain D's. My mahi Mahi was not very good, It had a off taste to it."

Anonymous party of 1 had dinner at Sharkey's on the Pier and rated the chicken fair because, "adequate for a tourist destination, but too greasy for my taste." and writes on April 23, 2007, "Sharkey's food is fair, but not the subject of this comment. I was sitting at the bar after dinner listening to the band, and when a friend of mine arrived I tried to order a glass of wine for her. I was rudely told by the bartender that I had to get out of my seat and go stand in line at the other side of the bar if I wanted to buy her a drink and then he walked away. When I complained to another bartender about it, I was told that if I did not like it there I should leave.
I have never been treated so rudely and poorly in any bar or restaurant in my life. They seem to take pride in their arrogance. "

Steve party of 2 had lunch at Sharky's on the Pier and rated the shrimp po boy, grilled grouper poor because, "overcooked, fried to death" and writes on February 13, 2007, "Worst service I have had in Florida. Waiter was indifferent, slow, mistaken and not tipped."

Margaret party of 5 had lunch at Sharky's on the Pier and rated the Coconut Shrimp, Clam Chowder, Quesadillas very good because, "most of the party were very happy with their meals." and writes on February 8, 2007, "This was "girls day out" for 5 women. We had driven from Port Charlotte to do some shopping and have lunch. Sharky's was the perfect location because it was right on the water and some of us were able to do some beach walking while waiting for our table. The wait for a table was less than the estimated 25 minutes. Two of the women had the grouper specials and one had the quesadillas. Myself and another woman were especially looking forward to having coconut shrimp. I had a cup of clam chowder in addition to the shrimp. It was excellent, loaded with pieces of clams, thick and wonderfully spiced. The shrimp, however, were a big disappointment. They were flattened, breaded and overcooked, which made them extremely dry. I would definitely go back to the restaurant, but not for the coconut shrimp."

Cathy Mathes and a party of 6 dined on burgers, seafood, nachos and the frozen specialty drinks and rated the food excellent because, "everyone could find something they wanted, even the kids, and we were all very pleased with our food." and writes on November 28, 2004, "I rate this restaurant as excellent because of the food, the drinks, and the overall atmosphere. I have been to Florida 4 times and each time I have made it a point to visit Sharky's. When we were last there in February 2004, we ate lunch outside on the deck. We had a variety of food, including seafood nachos, seafood pasta, burgers, chicken tenders for the kids, and several other items. Everything was done perfectly and the service was excellent. During the same visit to Florida, we made it to Sharky's again for dinner and stayed well into the night. I will make sure to visit Sharky's everytime I visit Florida!"

Anonymous says they have visited Sharky's 50 times and ordered Mahi Mahi, seafood pasta and rated the food excellent because, "I have never had a bad meal there yet and I have been going for 20 years now." and writes on June 29, 2004, "I'm not going to write a very long review, I am just going to say that I am driving a hundred miles out of my way to dine at Sharky's! That should tell you something!"

Allan Hoskins and a party of 6 dined at Sharky's on 7/14/2003 and rates the food excellent because, "I ordered pasta with shrimp, scallops, lobster, and mushrooms in a wine sauce. There was more than enough for two people and was one of the best meals I had in the 4 weeks I was in Venice." He writes, "The outside patio is outstanding, especially during a sunset. The storms can be a little exciting but the music continued as long as the wind didn't blow. The seafood pasta was outstanding and there was plenty for two. I wasn't real happy with the $2 charge for the second plate since my wife didn't order a meal, but she did order a salad. All frozen drinks are very good and the beer is cold...the draft is the best buy... and I've tried all of them. It can be hard to get a patio table...sometimes its bump and run to get one when people leave and on other nights its reserved. I haven't got that figured out yet but I will. Sharkey's is one of our favorite places to eat in the area and there are SO many good places to go. Oh, one final note...the server who has very happy feet and dances all over the place is a real keeper. She is so fun to watch. Can't wait till Christmas."

The Max party of 4 had lunch at Sharky's and dined on Jambalaya and Grouper and writes on 11/12/2002:  "This was the 4th time we had been there for lunch. If you stay away from ethnic dishes they feature from time to time you won't be disappointed. If you stick with the seafood you will be happy. The cook the standards well and show good inventiveness in other dishes that should satisfy most palates. The fruit/vegetable breads are outstanding and everyone is friendly and anxious to serve. It is great place to take visitors. The lunchtime prices are quite a good value. We haven't eaten dinner there."

Josephine of New Jersey writes, "We liked this restaurant because the food is good and the prices are also good. It's casual, which we like when we are on vacation. We don't like to dress up when we are away. They are very accommodating to the kids and tolerate them going to the fish tanks to watch the fish.
We always try to find restaurants that our kids which are both under 6 enjoy.
The views are terrific and when not too hot it's nice to sit outside on the pier.
The service on both occasions has been very good and the restaurant was very clean.
We will definitely go back next time we are in the area."
