Anonymous party of 2 had dinner at Miguel's and rated the food excellent because, "Our food was very well prepared and full of flavor. The portions served were very robust." and writes on July 29, 2009, "I was very pleased with the Steak Diane that I ordered. My wife was pleased as well with the chicken dish prepared with a Dijon sauce. I love salads & Miguel's salad was bursting with freshness that was uncommon. The strawberries Romanoff were good.
"I wish that I could remember the name of the waiter. I think it was Brian. He and the others treated us with care and respect. We didn't have to ask to have tea or water replenished. He was very patient to go over the specials in detail more than once.
"The atmosphere is very pleasant with booths or tables for a quiet dinner.
You won't just stumble on Miguel's by accident. It is in a specialty shopping center, in the apex of the "L" layout.
"Also, I need to add that if you notice the price being low for a party of 2 at a very nice restaurant, it was due to our taking advantage of an Early Bird Special.
The menu was far from limited for this offering & the value was unbelievable. If you had to drive for 30 minutes to get there, it would be worth the trip."

Joseph Edwards says he rates the food excellent because, "The food was cooked to order, the meal was hot, presentation impressive, and everything was delicious." He writes on May 31, 2003, "Myself and my wife dined at Miguel's because some of our friends recommended it as one of those hidden places you only discover by word of mouth. We were pleasantly surprised when we found it and ate there. We were greeted by friendly hostess, and promptly sat in a lovely booth. The ambiance at Miguel's is wonderfully romantic with dimly lit lighting, and beautiful European decorations. Our appetizers were delicious, myself having the Escargot, and my wife the onion soup. Our waiter recommended a great bottle of wine, after I browsed the extensive wine selection. Very few restaurants these days still offer the impeccable continental service Miguel's offers, from the waiters wearing tuxedos and your every want and wish is swiftly and pleasantly carried out. Our entrees were wonderful, I had the Mixed Grille, and my wife the Rack of lamb, which was carved table side for her. There was obviously a lot of time and emery put into the presentation, and everything was prepared perfectly. I was surprised at the portions, usually the more expensive restaurants are stingy but at Miguel's the portions were very adequate. After dinner we had another tableside preparation for dessert, Banana's Foster, which was by far the best I have ever had. We were offered some after dinner drinks which made the whole meal complete. I am the kind of person who doesn't mind spending a little money for a quality meal. Miguel's definitely delivered, and I hope others "discover" it also."

Rodney Murillo and a party of 4 dined at Miguel's 3/11/03 ordering Dover Sole, Rack of lamb, Veal Piccata and rates the food excellent because, "Every thing was hot, tasted great, and the presentation was also impressive," and says, "Four of us decided to go out to celebrate my brothers birthday. We finally decided to go to Miguel's restaurant, because of our great prior experience. Immediately when we enter the restaurant, even though there was a wait, we were greeted with a smiling face and the hostess apologized about the wait and offered us a glass of wine to ease the time. Within five minutes our table was ready, Within 15 minutes we had drinks on the table and had appetizers put in the kitchen. Although we had to wait for the food a little longer than we wanted it was worth it when it arrived. The server cut the Dover and rack table side which you do not find this kind of service in Sarasota any more. This was the second time I dined at Miguel's and every thing was excellent."

Robert Sheverbush writes on 1/3/2003, "I rate the restaurant poor because the soup was too salty but most of all the main course of fish and vegetables were all over done. When the manager was called he argued and was very rude. This is the most negative experience that I have ever had in dining out over many years."
