DL party of 2 had dinner at J. Ryan's in Sarasota and
rated the Quiche of the Day and Rafael's 1996 Salad, Key Lime Pie &
daily fresh fruit cobbler excellent and writes on 11/30/2009, "J
Ryan's on the Grill is one of a only a handful of restaurants that
truly makes real AND Excellent healthy food in Sarasota!
Almost every other restaurant in Sarasota, either out of ignorance,
or perhaps greed, uses ingredients that harm your body- as
determined by the US Government, the CDC or NIH, and Rafael, and
Christian, his Chef de Cuisine, deserve a big thanks for giving all
of us food that doesn't harm your body and thank you for using real
and fresh ingredients in all the delicious menu items.
Thank you Rafael, and Christian, for the care and extra effort they
expend every day to make us real and healthy food!
My guest and I had the daily quiche. A great lite fare for dinner,
and its great for lunch. They have it all day every day so you can
order one of their different flavor quiches anytime. They are
scratch made with real ingredients that are healthy. The crust for
the quiche is made with 100% real olive oil, not harmful vegetable
oil, so you can eat it without harming your body.
Everything is excellent! We had a hard time picking dinner. Had to
pick just one thing!
The Sunday before this visit on the 9th, I was alone and went there
to have the Eggs Benedict. They are one of only 3 restaurants in
Sarasota that has REAL Eggs Benedict with REAL Hollandaise sauce,
although they recently changed their menu to only have their
fantastic Eggs Benedict on their Sunday brunch!
We both had the Rafael's 1996 Salad. It is fantastic! They only use
real 100% olive oil for their salad dressing on Rafael's Salad. It's
wonderful AND healthy too, with healthy low omega-6 cheeses!
Christian's skillfully scratch made menu items- like his homemade
mayonnaise for some dishes. Again, it's made with real ingredients-
REAL 100% olive oil, NOT THE EXTREMELY UNHEALTHY VEGETABLE OILS (as
recently determined by the NIH & CDC not me!) so it's very healthy
too!
If it would have been Thursday, we would have had the house special.
One of 7 or so fresh made daily. Thursday is maybe my favorite
anywhere. It's outstanding traditional Corned Beef & Cabbage. The
only thing it's missing is turnips!
My pre-dessert was their stuffing (its included in their turkey
dinner) and I often get it as a side item in place of fries. It is
excellent with a great flavor just like my grandmother made! Then
the Key Lime. She had daily fresh fruit cobbler with ice cream.
Another excellent meal.
J Ryan's on the Grill is one of my favorite restaurants anywhere on
the planet! You will love it too."

Times At Restaurant: 103 Lissette Haslem party of 2 had dinner at J. Ryan's in
Sarasota and rated the food excellent because, "Amazing food. great
service!" and writes on March 24, 2006 , "From the moment we walked
in the door my husband and I were greeted immediately. From the
hostess to the waiter and everyone in between the service was
excellent. We were fortunate enough to meet the owner when we first
walked in. he was very delightful and made sure all of our needs
were met.
The menu selection was great. Anything one might be in the mood for
I'm sure they've got it. My husband ordered the veal entree and i
had the scrimp and scallop entree. The wait time on the food was
fairly short. Once the food got to the table we couldn't believe how
great everything looked. It was picture perfect. not only did
everything look great, but it tasted great too. I would have never
thought to put mashed potatoes and seafood together. I've always
eaten the seafood with pasta, but to my suprise it was amayzing.
This is deffinately a place i will reccomend to all of my friends
and family. I'll return very soon.
