Tyler Copeman party of 6 ordered Chimichungas/enchiladas and rated the food excellent because, "absolutely fabulous" and writes on 10/22/2009: "My wife ordered chicken chimichungas, and Iordered the enchilada platter. Excellently prepared. Fast professional service. The best, I have eaten since leaving residence in New Mexico. The prices are terrifically reasonable."

Chris Myers party of 4 ordered Chimichanga, taco salad and rated the food fair because, "The portions have dropped considerably from the times we ate there a few years ago" and writes on February 25, 2005, "We were Sarasota residents for seven years. From the period of 1993 to 2000 we had eaten at El Adobe at least 100 times. The food was great, priced reasonably and the service was always excellent. We moved to North Carolina and found no similar restaurant to our liking. Every time we visited Sarasota, we made sure we would eat at El Adobe.
In June, 2004, we moved back and looked forward to eating there again. Now, it seems like ownership may have changed hands. The Chimichanga we ordered in previous times has massive and filled the plate. The Taco Salad was served in a deep fried tortilla shell. The plain taco was inexpensive. On the recent outing, the Chimichanga was the size of a burrito, the taco salad was served on a small bed of nacho chips and my sons two beef tacos, ordered ala carte, cost more than the taco salad did. The portions are smaller. The waiter only appeared at our table to take the order and to leave the check. We have begun to look elsewhere for this type of food, as we do not intend on eating at El Adobe again. It's a shame that such a well respected restaurant has taken such a downhill turn."

Ryan Kamowski writes us on 2/17/2003: "This restaurant offers excellent food. Every year, our family visits our relatives in Sarasota, and we make sure that we eat at El Adobe every year. It is the thing that we all look forward to. The tacos and quesadillas were and always are excellent. There is actually a lot of meat and cheese included on the food, unlike some other places that do not take time to fully prepare the food. El Adobe also has great-tasting chips to enjoy before eating the meal. It is one of the best restaurants I have ever been to because of the easy parking facilities, bathroom location inside, decorations in the restaurant, and overall friendliness of the staff."
