Fulton Lewis
enjoyed Duck, Salmon, Veal, Pork and rated the food excellent
because, "very well prepared, with an outstanding presentation"
and writes on 7/22/04: "Currently, they are offering a fantastic
"summer special" (which you have to request). For $39.95, you
get a dinner for two with a choice of appetizers, of entree
(from a list of 6), or deserts plus a bottle of wine! The
portions are large, the help is very friendly, the atmosphere --
overlooking the Longboat Key Moorings marina AND Sarasota Bay --
is sensational. All of this for a "bargain basement" price!"
Anonymous rates the
food fair because, "very mediocre, and poorly presented."
Anonymous ordered "potato crusted grouper was just packaged
Rosti over the fish and looked like a big blob on the plate" and
writes on 4/5/2004: "We ordered a very nice bottle of wine as
well as bottled water. Our waiter was not at all professional or
interested in serving dinner (at least that night). He poured
wine into a glass that had water in it and even when told so,
did absolutely nothing about it. It was even a challenge to get
an apology. For that we left a poor tip and would never
recommend this restaurant."
Marilyn Hack rates
the food excellent and writes on 10/26/03: "I had a party of 20
people. The manager Ken could not have been nicer to accommodate
us. Not only did he do a great job but he called me the day of
our reservations and told us about our tables. Our waiters were
exceptional and the people I brought from Venice are going to
come again because of this extradorinary evening. We could not
have been happier with the service, the wine, the food, and the
price. "
