on Siesta Key and rated the eggs, pancakes, bagels fair and writes
on November 19, 2006, "I met a friend for breakfast at the Broken
Egg on Sunday, November 19. I had the sample platter, and he had a
bagel with cream cheese and tomato. The food was ok, service was
fair. They got my order wrong--I asked for bacon with my meal and
they brought sausage. That didn't bother me--what did was that they
ASKED US TO LEAVE! We had finished eating, and i closed out the tab.
We stayed to chat for about 5 minutes, and a waitress came over to
us and said we would have to leave, since it was Sunday morning and
they had people waiting. I understand this, but when I checked my
watch it had been less than 45 minutes since we sat down! I thought
this was way out of line. I've eaten there several times before, and
always get the feeling they have all the business they want, and
there is a nonchalant attitude about the customer. It's a shame, but
I will never eat there again--and I will continue to tell my friends
about my experience there."

Grilled Turkey and Cheese with hot pepper jelly and rated the food
very good because, "They took some chances with basic dishes." and
writes on January 18, 2005: "This is well known eatery in Siesta Key
that we decided to try. I had a Strawberry roll filled with
strawberries and topped with a strawberry yogurt. My wife had a
grilled turkey and cheese sandwich with hot pepper jelly. Both
dishes were full of flavor and were not the usual lunch fare." Anonymous rated the food very good
because, "the pancakes were excellent but the sausage broken egg
breakfast was a little too greasy." They ordered chocolate chip
pancake, big egg bkft with sausage, wheat toast, egg beaters
scrambled, OJ, coffee and writes on June 24, 2004, "The service
was excellent as the waitress was honest about our portions.
There was a roach being killed while we paid for our bill but
the food was great. i guess that's what you get for having a
patio anywhere in Florida though!" Anonymous rated the food excellent on 3/17/2004
because, "it was great. its the best breakfast on the island." Barb rates the food excellent because, "Tasty, good
variety and flexible menu, also worked with food allergies of one
party." And writes on 9/18/03 "food is served promptly, always good
temperature, friendly service, relaxed atmosphere. Also, if
vacationing you can really get the feeling of "Florida". Owner takes
great pride which is evident by the excellent service. He is very
proud of his Sarasota affiliation. Sponsors local artists in decor
of restaurant." Anonymous writes us on 2/8/2003: "Had the Broken Egg
Breakfast and enjoyed same. Put some of their homemade hot sauce on
my eggs....I had to call a T.O. BABY. Looked over at Dickie V and he
confirmed my first instinct....T.O. BABY.
