Bowls of Hope
The Sarasota Bowls of Hope
Lunch (formerly Empty Bowls) is an annual community event benefiting the
All
Faiths Food Bank. It is held shortly before Thanksgiving each year.
This past year on Nov. 11, 2007 11AM - 3PM.
Through the efforts of local potters and restaurants, this
event has raised more than $200,000 in the past ten years to aid the area's
hungry.
Each guest
selects from a gourmet buffet of savory soups and delicious breads
donated by Sarasota's finest restaurants. Each special bowl is filled
with a soup such as Lobster Bisque, New England Clam Chowder, Black Bean
and Rice, Chicken Noodle with Dumplings, Chili, Swedish Potato and
Indian Dahl Soup.
Below are photos of the 2007
event.
