Anonymous party of 2 had dinner at Le Colonne and rated the Veal chops with sauce poor because, "Quite fatty ,non tasty sauce, and small portions. There was also service added to the bill" and writes on April 26, 2007, "Having been to Lido Key 8 times for a vacation, and eaten in every restaurant in St Armands Circle, I can honestly say that this is my only bad experience. I found the service poor and the food bland, I object to having to pay 20% service when there was not any, and when I put cash down to pay the bill they had the nerve to ask me if I wanted any change, I am coming back to Lido Key in May 07 and I certainly will not be eating there, and anybody with any sense will not eat there either. The rude server was a waitress not waiter,"

Anonymous party of 3 had lunch at Le Colonne and rated the grouper, sea bass, gnocchi, arugula sld fair because, "Expensive 4 well below average quality. 20% grty charged on party of 3. Wal-Mart bread." and writes on April 8, 2007, "Very disappointed. Specials had no prices and they turned out to be the most expensive. Regardless, for the price of a lunch entree ($30), the quality was WELL below average. Not to mention the cheapest bread served. They said the entree comes with a pasta choice and waiter asked to choose. Then, they ended up charging us $6 extra! the waiter was dishonest. They automatically added a 20% gratuity on a party of three. The entree and salad portions were small and with the restaurant choices in St Armand's, I would NEVER consider going back. They are cheating the customer and that has no class. Pasta was NOTHING special. Not the homemade al dente that you would think of."

Stanley M Ferber party of 2 had dinner at Le Colonne and rated the Osso Bucco poor because, "Osso Bucco was mostly fat and grizzle." and writes on March 11, 2007, "I love Osso Bucco and order it whenever it is on the menu. Osso Bucco was the special, so I ordered it.
As I was eating the Osso Bucco I noticed that it was mostly fat and grizzle. When the waitress asked how everything was I stated that I never saw so much waste on an Osso Bucco. The waitress stated that she would tell the owner.
A few minutes later the waitress came back and said Osso Bucco has a lot of waste.
This main course was $30. It was largely uneatable. It ruined an otherwise perfect day in Sarasota."

Jason party of 2 had dinner at Le Colonne ordering Tortellini Maria Rosa and rated the food poor because, "Sauce on both our dishes were unimpressive. Pasta did not appear to be home-made. Bread was definitely store bought. Way overpriced. Wouldn't recommend." and writes on September 2, 2006, "Boasting of fresh pasta needs to stop. Was certainly store bought (or stale at best). Bread was also not home made. Salad had cafeteria-style croutons. Both of our entrées were flavorless and had no hint of authenticity. Restaurant should be ashamed of their pseudo-authenticity."

Anonymous party of 2 had dinner at Le Colonne and rated the Osso Bucco and Veal Marsala very good and writes on March 27, 2006, "Le Colonne was recommended to my wife and I by a bartender at the Spanish Point Tavern. The bartender and ourselves being originally from Rhode Island love Italian food! The next evening we went to the Colonne. We were greeted by the owner. He was very gracious and explained how he and his father started the restaurant and that they had come here from Italy some time ago. We were seat and ordered a bottle of Chianti and it came at just the right temperature. Appetizers were next. We ordered Bruschetta with fresh plum tomatoes with fresh garlic and extra virgin o.o. served on grilled Tuscan bread. The mix of the oil, garlic, and did I mention fresh Basil, was perfect! We decided not to have Salad so we could leave room for the Entres.I ordered Osso Bucco, it's my belief if the restaurant does a fine Osso Bucco you can be sure the rest is going to be good! My wife ordered her favorite, Veal Marsala. WE were not disappointed in our choices! The Osso Bucco was splendid! Slowly braised Veal Shanks in a tomato vegetable broth until the meat melts off the bone and then there is that little bit of marrow that's like manna from Heaven! My wife's Marsala was the real thing and not the thick syrupy sweet gravy that some restaurants do. Veal cutlets dusted with flour, browned in butter and the Marsala reduced till just starting to thicken and served with the sautéed mushrooms. I know it was great because of course I had to have some! After dinner drinks Cognac and Ameretto on the Rocks. The bill as I can remember was just around 100.00 and believe me it was well worth the trip to St Armands and will will definitely be going back!"
